I have located compatible VFD displays and I'd like to use them in my kit what is the max draw that the LCD can safely pull??? The bigger display needs up to 400mA and the smaller draws about 200mA can I do this safely??

200mA should be ok if powered from a PC USB port. 400mA is too close to a 500mA limit. If powered by an external power adapter the limit is dictated by the power adapater.
